What this app is
mcclenaghan.uk is a personal hub run by Jamie McClenaghan. The Android app (uk.mcclenaghan.app) is a Trusted Web Activity wrapping the same website. Installing the app is functionally identical to visiting the site in Chrome.
What data is collected
- Public hub (this page, the landing page): no cookies, no sign-in, no analytics of individual visitors. Vercel keeps aggregated, anonymised request counts for reliability purposes only.
- Gated sub-apps (e.g.
career.mcclenaghan.uk): require sign-in via Clerk. Clerk stores the email address of the signed-in user and session metadata, governed by Clerk's privacy policy. Gated sub-apps additionally use Vercel Analytics for aggregated page-view counts. - Notifications (optional, signed-in members only): if you turn on notifications at
/notifications, the device's push subscription (an opaque push-service address and encryption keys) and a device label such as "Android" are stored on your Clerk account. Turning notifications off, or the push service reporting the device gone, deletes it. Notifications carry only a title, a short message and a link.
What data is shared
Nothing is sold, traded, or shared for advertising. Sub-processors are limited to Vercel (hosting), Clerk (authentication) and, for notifications you turn on, your browser's push service (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and Chrome), which relays each encrypted notification to your device.
Permissions the Android app requests
INTERNET, and POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13+ so it can show notifications you have turned on. No location, contacts, camera, microphone or storage.
